Health News: Cancer - Guidelines unveiled for Sargent staff

Sargent Cancer Care for Children has launched national guidelines for specialist social workers dealing with children who have cancer.

The charity provides support for children with cancer and their families.

The service framework sets out guidelines for Sargent Care professionals who are part of cancer teams in 22 specialist child cancer centres in the UK.

Geoff Thaxter, director of services for Sargent, said the framework was about "bringing consistency to the work we already do" and would enable Sargent professionals to "share best practice around the country and raise standards".
