The news follows the announcement of the fund's 124m Children'sPlay Programme last spring.
The first group of local authorities applied for cash in July and wereexpecting to hear whether their applications had been successful withinthree months. However, not one of the 19 submissions by localauthorities has met the fund's criteria.
A spokeswoman from the Big Lottery Fund said: "Many of the first windowapplications from local authorities required further work, includingdeveloping appropriate play strategies, to make them fundable. Westrongly recommend that local authorities contact Play England to findout more about their development and support service, which will helpthem to prepare bids for this programme."
