Funding Watch: Who's getting money and who's giving it

Welsh health and play project plans revealed.

The Big Lottery Fund has unveiled details of new funding for children'splay and healthy living projects in Wales.

Last week it announced how its 20m Healthy Families programmewill work.

It will be divided into two funding streams to be run by specialistorganisations.

The 13m Child's Play strand will support large projects thatboost the development of play provision across Wales. Grants of up to1m will be made and priority will be given to projects forchildren aged eight to 12, since there is a lack of play provision forthat age group.

The cash will go to projects like adventure playgrounds, holiday playschemes and mobile play teams and to fund play workers and developmentofficers. It should open for applications in the autumn.
