New Life Counselling Services will get 145,000 in regenerationmoney to support four new posts to deliver programmes for children andadults.
These will include outreach work to tackle health awareness andemotional wellbeing within schools, and parenting programmes.
The organisation, which operates in the Crumlin and Ardoyne areas ofBelfast, offers support around issues such as bullying, bereavement anddepression. It will also use the funding to organise general healtheducation initiatives and to direct people towards advice and treatmentfor drug problems.
The funding comes through the Government's Neighbourhood RenewalStrategy and was announced on Monday.
"The New Life Counselling Service provides crucial support to thoseliving in the most disadvantaged areas of North Belfast," said socialdevelopment minister David Hanson.
