Funding Watch: Who's getting money and who's giving it - Cash for green community work

1 min read
Community groups that work with children and young people will be encouraged to apply for 50 grants to help improve the environment as part of a major volunteering campaign.

The grants are available as part of Community Service Volunteers' annual environmental volunteering drive, which is to be backed by the Environment Agency for the second year running.

The campaign runs from 1 January to World Environment Day on 5 June.

During the six-month period groups registering an environmental project will receive 50 to help buy tools and materials.

There is also an opportunity to win one of five award categories and receive a further 300 to be invested in the project. This year more than 6,600 children and young people aged up to 25 took part in Action Earth projects in England and Wales.
