1 min read Children's Services Child poverty

What is it? The Henry Smith Charity is a grant making charity that funds work with people experiencing social or economic disadvantage. Its Holiday Grants for Children scheme offers a grant towards holidays and outings within the UK for children aged 13 and under who are from areas of high deprivation, experiencing disadvantage or have a disability.

How much is on offer? Grants of up to £3,000 are available, although they are usually limited to a maximum of two-thirds of the total cost of a trip as groups are expected to find some funding from local partnerships.

What will it fund? Holidays or outings that provide children with a break they would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience. The holidays can be to countryside or city locations as long as they are outside of the area the children are from.
