Funding Grants of up to £3,000 are available, although they are usually limited to a maximum of two-thirds of the total cost of a trip as groups are expected to find some funding from local partnerships.
Funder The Henry Smith Charity
Aim To provide children aged 13 and under who are from areas of high deprivation, experiencing disadvantage or have a disability with a holiday or outing they would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience. The holidays can be to countryside or city locations as long as they are outside of the area the children are from.
Who can apply? Schools, youth groups, charities or any other organisation working with disadvantaged children. Groups will need to have a full plan of where the trip will take place and what its aims are before they apply. It takes between six and eight weeks for decisions to be made.
