The Henry Smith Charity - holiday grants for children

Holiday grant scheme for disadvantaged children across the UK

What is it?

Established in 1628, the Henry Smith Charity was named after a London salt merchant who, during his lifetime, created a number of charitable trusts for the benefit of the poor. Today, the charity continues to focus its grant making on the challenges and opportunities facing people in need throughout the UK. The charity's holiday grant scheme provides children with a recreational holiday or outing they would not otherwise have the opportunity to access.

How much is available?

Grants of between £500 and £2,500 towards the cost of holidays will be considered. The charity will fund only a maximum of two-thirds of the total cost of a holiday, with some of the funding expected to be raised elsewhere.
