Andy Slaughter, Labour MP for Ealing, Acton and Shepherd's Bush, has accused the Conservative-run council of forcing organisations to reduce services, or face closure. But the council said it had increased voluntary sector funding by two per cent, to 4.2m.
Staying Put Services, which works with children from deprived areas, received a grant of 108,000. However, Body and Soul, a charity that provides services to young people and families affected by HIV, was rejected for funding.
Rena Greifinger, policy, advocacy and development officer at Body and Soul, said: "This rejection of funding will mean we cannot expand our services."
Councillor Antony Lillis, Hammersmith and Fulham Council's cabinet member for community services, said: "Groups that support young people are given high priority."
