The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham has a dedicated team working to find suitable placements for looked-after children.
This, according to Sarah Gore, Hammersmith and Fulham's lead member for children's services, has gone a long way to ensuring children get the stability that is crucial to their wellbeing.
In 2005, 14.5 per cent of looked-after children in Hammersmith and Fulham experienced three or more placement moves. In the year ending 31 March 2009, the figure stood at 6.7 per cent, marking five consecutive years of steady reduction. Its level is now well below the national average.
