EU Policy: European internet portal is unveiled

1 min read

The European Youth Portal will provide young people throughout the union with information on a range of topics including travelling, studying and volunteering. It will also provide information for those working with young people.

The portal is part of the commission's youth policy and plans for its creation were originally set out in its white paper on young people, A New Impetus For European Youth.

Commissioner Viviane Reding said: "At the beginning of my mandate, I gave priority in the white paper to the participation and information of young people. The European Youth Portal is a perfect example of this, since it facilitates young people's access to information and advice in the area of citizens' rights, education, training, volunteering, exchanges and travelling in Europe."
