Issue Four takes a look at youth policy in Norway, Sweden and Bulgaria, together with some wider European initiatives.
The project aims to promote closer European co-operation in the field of youth policy and youth services by describing national youth policy initiatives and legislation as well as related measures. It also aims to support the objectives set by the European Commission white paper A New Impetus for European Youth. The new edition contains a critical appraisal of UK youth policy written by Tom Wylie, chief executive of The NYA. At a time of great change for UK youth services, and at the start of Britain's presidency of the EU, Wylie looks to the future, stressing the need for active engagement, integrated services and multidisciplinary teams.
