The first advertisement for the job of schools commissioner waspublished last week. It reveals that ministers are looking for someonewith a background in business, education, local government, or allthree.
The successful applicant will be paid a 100,000-plus salary andemployed in the Department for Education and Skills. They will act as achampion for trust schools and will also publish an annual report namingschools that have not adhered to the admissions code.
