Education News: Extended schools - Year two for managers' qualification

1 min read
A new qualification for extended schools managers is to continue into its second year after 24 people signed up the first time around.

Education charity ContinYou has teamed up with the University of Staffordshire to keep the masters programme in Leading Community Learning going for a second year.

The news comes after Hull University's International Educational Leadership Centre, which is currently running the course, decided to end its involvement.

John Grainger, executive director for extended learning at ContinYou, expressed relief that the course would be entering its second year.

"I have no idea why Hull dropped out but the course will still go ahead because of the interest that is out there," he said.

"Last year I had no idea what the take-up would be so I'm quite chuffed that we got 24 people signed up and paid. It proves that our sense of what was needed was right.
