30% of looked-after children with special educational needs (26.8 per cent in England)
19.6% of pupils taking free school meals (13.9 per cent in England)
0.26% of half days missed in primary schools, unauthorised (0.43, England)
According to Gateshead Council, all Year 11 looked-after children now receive full-time education, in accordance with government guidelines.
The complex requirements of looked-after children are reflected by the number in care with special educational needs, while levels of social disadvantage are echoed by the figures for free school meals.
"Attendance figures demonstrate our commitment to education welfare," the council added.
