Connexions: Partnerships outline how they can work with trusts

The document came out of discussions between partnership chief executives.

It will set out how Connexions can adapt to children's trusts without being dismantled or compromising its role in providing targeted and universal support.

The blueprint will outline the contribution Connexions can make to five core areas: integrated frontline delivery; multi-disciplinary teams at venues including extended schools; integrated processes including information sharing; integrated strategy, including pooled budgets and commissioning; and inter-agency governance.

The association's executive director, Carolyn Caldwell, described the children's trust framework as a natural evolution but stressed the association was not backing down in its conviction that its targeted and universal remit should remain.
