Capacitybuilders Strategic Change Programme

1 min read
What it is: Capacitybuilders' latest funding programme, Strategic Change, is made up of two principal strands that are intended to modernise the third sector. Just under half of the total fund will be dedicated to consortium development grants for local and regional consortia and the rest will go towards a modernisation project fund, which will invest in changing the way consortium members deliver support services, both locally and nationally.

How much is on offer: The total fund for 2008 to 2011 stands at £30m. Consortium development grants will total £12m and the modernisation project fund is worth £18m.

What it will fund: Consortium development grants will help consortia to continue developing as effective partnerships and enhance the delivery of core functions - such as communications, strategic planning and engagement. Grants will be tied to an agreement about the recipients' delivery of core roles and strategic outcomes. The modernisation project fund will provide money to schemes offering third sector support services. These projects could include initiatives to improve partnership working, develop accountability or build capacity for independent incomes.
