How much is on offer: Between 12 and 15 projects will receive up to £70,000 each in the current round of funding, which is worth £1m.
What it will fund: The Young Carers Grant programme is most interested in funding projects that support young carers who are hard-to-reach or from under-represented communities. They could be isolated because of stigma attached to the condition of the person they are caring for, or be members of minority ethnic or refugee communities. The programme will prioritise supporting young carers who have the heaviest emotional or physical caring responsibilities.
Who can apply: Any registered charity or registered charitable company in the UK that aims to fulfil the following criteria. Projects must identify and reduce the extent of inappropriate or harmful caring responsibilities taken on by children, produce positive outcomes for the child or young person and produce useful learning for other organisations considering similar work.
