Young People's Fund 2: Local Grants

1 min read
What is it: The local strand of the Big Lottery Fund's Young People's Fund 2 grants programme, which supports projects that put young people at the heart of planning, developing and running local activities and services to improve the lives of vulnerable young people. The programme follows the original Young People's Fund grants programme.

How much is on offer: Grants of between £10,000 and £500,000 are available. The fund only supports projects in England and grants will last between one and five years.

What it will fund: The programme will fund local projects led by and for young people. These could include youth arts projects, youth cafes, training programmes and information services. The grants are also available to support youth-based projects that develop sites or buildings, provided the development costs are no more than £200,000. The programme has two aims: to ensure young people are involved in developing services for 10- to 18-year-olds and to help teenagers achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes. It will also support initiatives helping young people who are finding the move to adulthood difficult.
