Young people at one of our youth clubs are busy preparing a time capsule. And in just a few weeks, it and all its contents will be buried deep in the grounds of one of our youth centres. We're even planning an official burial to mark the end of this unusual project.
Members of the club, aimed at young carers, are having a really great time collecting items to go into the capsule. It offers much-needed time out from helping to care for a family member, as well as a space to take part in activities and to have fun.
And after reading last week's Young People Now (YPN, 5-11 October, pp 2, 3 and 11) I've got a suggestion for something else that should be locked inside; the outdated view that some politicians seem to have of the youth service.
