Who do you work with? Schools refer young people to us, but we also work with any local young person who wants to get involved. So if I'm running a club it is open to the first 20 young people that apply. Some of the work we do is quite targeted, and other bits are quite general. I probably regularly work with 150 young people aged between eight and 13.
What are the aims of the project?
I work for Crime Concern, so the remit is tackling crime and antisocial behaviour. Our aims are to try to improve the school attendance rate of the young people we work with by 80 per cent, improve their educational performance, and reduce youth crime rates in the neighbourhood by about 15 to 20 per cent.
