Do you meet young people much? Outside the actual sessions themselves, I try to meet up with young people two to three times a month. Meeting and working with young people takes up a large part of my time. I've got involved in lots of aspects of their lives, including supporting them in court in disputes with landlords.

How did you end up in the job? I'm a musician and I came into the projects as a sessional worker. The project co-ordinator position became vacant and I felt it was a chance to tie my work as a musician in with my other skills. The fact that I'm a Black man and that these are projects for young Black men also attracted me to the job. There are not many projects offering this level of support to this group.
