What is your job all about? I'm the education outreach officer for Simon Community Northern Ireland, a charity for homeless people. I am responsible for the Outspoken Peer Education Group. The group aims to raise awareness of homeless issues, and challenges stereotypes of homeless people in schools and youth groups. The peer educators can also access activities such as creative writing, first aid, horseriding and bowling. I accompany them on their school visits as well as organising the events for the group.
How many young people do you work with? We usually have 10 peer educators on average. We also visit classes of young people every week.
