Back Page: And this is what I do - Jo Philpott, education officer, National Youth Orchestra

1 min read

What organisations do you work with? We already work with the National Foundation for Youth Music and we're trying to build up links with local education authorities and youth services. We want to link up with organisations that can help us target young people who don't normally have access to music.

How did you end up in the job? I studied arts management with a focus on education projects with young people. I joined the orchestra a couple of years ago.

What are the best parts of your job? From the outreach point of view, the best part is travelling around the country and meeting people, and getting to work with lots of enthusiastic young people. I also help the orchestra prepare for performances and I enjoy knowing that I contributed to those performances.
