Accreditation: Award to include module on alcohol

1 min read

The Big Lottery Fund has funded the module, called the Drinkaware Challenge, with 358,000 over three years. The trust aims to make it available to young people on Youth Achievement Award courses by the end of the year.

Janet Sarll, director of resources at the Drinkaware Trust, said: "We hope the project will increase motivation in young people so they can resist pressures to consume alcohol. We linked with UK Youth because it is the largest non-uniformed youth organisation in the UK and we are looking to spread the module as far as possible."

The Drinkaware Trust is a sister organisation to the drinks industry's "responsible drinking" charity the Portman Group. It focuses on alcohol education through grant giving.
