Health Youth Justice Youth Work
An Oxfordshire policeman has won a national award for his efforts in tackling underage drinking.

PC Simon Collins, from Thames Valley Police, won a National Justice Award after he set up a number of initiatives to deter young people from using alcohol.

Collins helped set up regular stop checks in areas where young people were known to hang out drinking and was involved in producing a DVD package entitled Too Wasted that focuses on the consequences of underage drinking. He also ran workshops for parents whose children had been caught drinking illegally.

Jack Malhi, chief inspector for West Oxfordshire, described the award as an "outstanding achievement".
