Alcohol crackdown targets teenagers

Police officers in England and Wales targeted more than 6,000 young people last autumn in a crackdown on underage drinking.

Community safety minister Vernon Coaker said: "Quite simply we will not tolerate drinking in public by under-18s, or anyone else where it leads to antisocial and intimidating behaviour."
