I had been in the Sea Cadets for around two years when they asked me to present a speech to Brent Council’s planning committee in the hope of overturning the rejection of the proposed upgrading of the Sea Cadets Welsh Harp Boat Station in Wembley, North London.
As an enthusiastic Sea Cadet, sailor and weekly user of the Welsh Harp Boat Station, I would be able to come up with justifiable reasons as to why the new boat station building would benefit children and young people in the area, and legitimately argue against the reasons not to upgrade the boat station to the planning committee.
