After a turbulent period in my life, I completed my A Levels in one year and took a place at the University of Birmingham reading economic and social history, this summer graduating with a 2:1.

During my time at the University of Birmingham I have been the recipient of four international scholarships. The first allowed me to study at the National University of Singapore on a summer school programme in 2014. The second enabled me to present my independent research at the 2015 Undergraduate Research Conference, which was hosted by the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Third, I was selected to take part in an intensive Mandarin language programme, by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, at Beijing Normal University in China. Finally, I was awarded a place on a social entrepreneurship and social change course, run by the British Council and IILM University in India. I also interned at Silicon Valley Bank in London during the summer of 2015.
