I moved to the UK from Zimbabwe four years ago. I came to live with my aunt in Hampshire after my mother passed away when I was 13 years old. Leaving my old life behind was a huge step and far from easy, and I began to wonder whether I would ever truly feel at home again.

I moved to the UK from Zimbabwe four years ago. I came to live with my aunt in Hampshire after my mother passed away when I was 13 years old. Leaving my old life behind was a huge step and far from easy, and I began to wonder whether I would ever truly feel at home again.

Since making the move, I dreamt of a career in the British Army. I knew I wanted to join, but after leaving school, I didn’t really know where to start. One of my friends recommended the Military Preparation College in Farnborough. It sounded really exciting and I quickly signed up.
