Parentline Plus criticised "increasingly draconian measures" aimed atmaking parents take responsibility for badly-behaved children, in areport out today (26 April). It said punitive steps like parentingorders could make matters worse.
The report looks at the problems faced by parents of teenagers and callson the Government to improve support services. About a third of calls tothe charity's helpline are from parents of young people aged 13 to15.

Jan Fry, Parentline Plus's director of external relations, said manyparents were afraid to ask schools for help for fear of beinglabelled.
