Bullying: Parents' campaign to target adults

A leading parents' charity is to launch an anti-bullying campaign that urges parents and teachers to "be someone to tell".

Parentline Plus hopes to start the Be Someone To Tell campaign thisautumn on the back of research that uncovered shocking evidence of thesophisticated ways girls bully their peers.

The charity is urging schools and other organisations to review theiranti-bullying policies after its three-month research project foundexamples of girls being barraged with nasty text messages andemails.

Jan Fry, director of external relations at Parentline Plus, said it wasvital policies reflected the different ways girls and boys bully. "Whatthis research has shown is that when girls bully it's not alwaysobvious.

It's not the in-your-face thing you see with boys, it's much moreunderhand," she said.
