The Equitable Charitable Trust

1 min read Education Management Funding

What is it?

The trust is an education charity set up in 1984 to receive and distribute a portion of the profits from a commercial school fee investment plan. Since inception, it has issued grants worth more than £24m towards education projects for children and young people under the age of 25 who are from disadvantaged backgrounds or disabled.

The investment plans that provide the trust with its funding are due to end soon and, as a result, grant-making is due to conclude at the end of 2014, with the trust winding up during 2015.

How much is available?

The size of grants range from £3,000 to £30,000. Most grants are for sums of between £5,000 and £20,000.
