Places to go - Warwickshire

1 min read Youth Work
It's St George's Day on 23 April, so it's the ideal opportunity for young people to explore England's cultural heritage.

Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire is among the venues staging their own celebrations to mark the day. The castle will host a weekend of entertainment for all ages, from puppet shows to a live battle of St George against the dragon.

In keeping with the heritage theme, a visit to Coventry Cathedral is also worthwhile. The old cathedral was burnt out in 1940 when several bombs dropped by the Luftwaffe hit the building. Its charred remains still stand next to the new 1950s cathedral.

For young people who like the idea of losing themselves, head to Maze World. The attraction has six mazes and is the world's largest permanent maze. More fun can be had at the Planet Ice skating rink, which is open every day and is home to the Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Team.
