1 min read Youth Work
Oxford is best known for its for world-famous university but there's far more to the city than elaborate buildings and tourist buses.

Groups visiting the area can go punting or on a cruise down the river from one of the boat houses, or visit The Museum of Natural History, which houses one of the finest collections of dinosaurs in the country and currently has a working observation beehive. This month the Museum of Science will also host an Evening with Dr Frankenstein, where visitors can see the author's original manuscript for the book.

For groups looking for a more energetic time, there's the Oxford Ice Rink and the Laser Quest Centre to keep you occupied.

How to get there

By train: A frequent train service operates between Oxford and London Paddington. The journey takes about one hour and 10 minutes. The city can be reached from the north by changing at Birmingham New Street Station.
