Places to Go: Cheshire

1 min read Youth Work
Celebrity footballers may flock to build their mansions in Cheshire's Alderley Edge, but the county has much to offer youth groups as well.

The Cheshire Peak District offers panoramic views, and on a clear day from atop the medieval Beeston Castle, visitors can see across eight counties.

The county is famed for its fine gardens, such as those at award-winning Arley Hall.

Chester Zoo houses more than 7,000 species of animals, while the Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port has one of the largest shark collections in Europe. Even Chester Cathedral gives wildlife tours - of animals depicted in the stained-glass windows.

Thrill seekers among your youth group would appreciate a trip to Go Ape!, a high-wire adventure centre located in Delamere Forest. The course features zip wires, rope bridges and Tarzan swings up to 40 feet off the ground.
