NCB's chief executive, Dr Hilary Emery, used her address at NCB's annual general meeting to call for greater help for the most disadvantaged young people in our society.
She said: "Youth unemployment at a record high, added to cuts to youth services, increases in university fees, scrapping of the educational maintenance allowance and the constant negative images of young people in the media all conspire to portray a bleak prospect for our future generation. We need action and investment now."
The meeting showcased NCB's Life Skills programme and welcomed students from Park Lane School in Halifax who talked about their experiences on the volunteer schemes they worked on as part of the project.
