Candidates taking part in this year's Youth Trainee Scheme with Redbridge council have been celebrated during a reception at Ilford Town Hall.

The scheme is open to 16- to 18-year-olds who live or go to school in the London borough and aims to get young local people interested in a career in local government. Each trainee is provided with a detailed learning and development plan, which includes gaining a professional qualification.
