Under the reviews, services for children and young people will be inspected as a whole, and some services, including Connexions and youth services, will not receive separate inspections.
But a letter sent by Anne Weinstock, director of the Supporting Children and Young People Group at the Department for Education and Skills, to all principal youth officers earlier this month states that services not inspected during the latest cycle will be singled out for extra attention.
There will be more emphasis on youth work at the analysis and field-work stages of the review and a separate "youth enhancement inspection" report will be published. Youth services that have been inspected under the current framework will not receive a separate report.
