Youth Services: Joint Area Reviews delayed by dispute

Calderdale, Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent councils all contested the findings. A Stoke spokesman said the council had queried the judgment because of "inconsistencies".

As Young People Now went to press, Staffordshire's report had been released, but Stoke and Calderdale were unpublished.

Staffordshire, Enfield, and Wirral's youth services were rated good, Bournemouth and Herefordshire were adequate, and Slough Services for Young People was inadequate. Liam Murphy, one of the lead officers at the service, said he felt some of the criticisms were unfair.

The next four reports are due to be published by March.
