YOUTH PARTICIPATION: London's mayor invites youth input on consultation paper

1 min read

Aimed at the 1.62 million under-18s in the capital, the paper is a first draft of the mayor's children and young people's strategy proposal to make London a more child-friendly city.

Deputy mayor and former youth worker, Nicky Gavron, told YPN: "The purpose is to change London for children and teenagers and give them as many rights as adults. Youth workers are instrumental in getting the paper across to young people, and we are sending out questionnaires to schools and youth services. We want young people to tell us what the gaps are."

Consultation ends on 31 July, when a final strategy will be drawn up.
