Staffordshire receives £451,419 for its youth opportunity fund and £390,441 for the youth capital fund. It has divided this cash so that smaller grants are dealt with locally, and larger grants are assessed centrally.
- How are the funds structured?
Back in 2006, Staffordshire decided to divide its money into three strands. In each of the county's eight districts there would be a Youth Bank established to deal with small-scale local bids, while a separately administered youth opportunity fund management board would address projects that operated across two or more districts. This management board would also consider youth capital fund bids.
The groups have set limits of £50 to £3,000 for Youth Bank applications, £50 to £6,000 for the county-wide youth opportunity fund bids and £1,000 to £50,000 for youth capital fund applications.
