Youth Justice News: Midlands - YJB bids to expand juvenile estates

It has submitted a business case to the department, which would allow it to commission more secure accommodation designed for young people.

If the bid is successful the aim will be to roll it out to other regions.

Paul Bowers, director of service delivery at the YJB, said: "Our aim is for a juvenile-only estate."

Last week the YJB published an update on its Strategy for the Secure Estate. This said it is producing "capital plans" for the development of secure accommodation over the next decade.
