Mission: To engage young people and teach them skills

Funding: About 5,000 per scheme, funded through the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund

They then went into schools on Saturday mornings to teach targeted groups of 11- to 16-year-olds how to look after and repair cycles. The young people were not known offenders, but the schools had suggested them as individuals who might benefit from the work.
