The Stowe Centre will provide facilities for 150 young people a day in the Westbourne Green area.
Facilities on offer include: a multi-purpose sports hall; a training kitchen; a Connexions service; a sexual health clinic; a music studio; a DJ room; a dance studio and a multimedia room.
Paddington Development Trust will manage the centre, built as part of Westminster City Council's five-year plan to regenerate the area (YPN, 15-21 September 2004, p4).
Jackie Rosenberg, the trust's deputy chief executive, said: "This provision will serve a very deprived community."
