Workplace: Who's in your meetings? - Nicole Cameron, senior practitioner, children and families, Camden council

1 min read
What exactly do you do? I work with children and their families who are defined as in need or require a service because there is concern about their safety and they require protection.

Describe a typical day? I supervise social work staff and provide guidance about the work they are undertaking with children and their families.

I often liaise with other professionals, such as health visitors, teachers and police, to discuss concerns they may have for a child. I meet with children and their families and carry out assessments. I also co-ordinate and chair meetings with professionals and families.

What other agencies, and who else within your organisation, do you have to work with? We work very closely with the police services when allegations of child abuse have been made. We also work closely with education and health services to discuss concerns, and also with voluntary organisations.
