1 min read
What exactly do you do? My main remit is to develop current and new ways to get children participating in regular, fun and safe physical activity. Each co-ordinator is responsible for a group, or "cluster", of primary schools.

Describe a typical day? At the moment the project is in its infancy inAberdeen, so our main objective is to gather as much information aspossible about our respective schools and establish contacts. Once weare up and running, we will be supporting current projects within theschools and helping devise and establish new initiatives.

What other agencies, and who else within your own organisation do youwork with? As well as the council, SportScotland is playing a lead rolein developing, supporting and monitoring the initiative. All theco-ordinators work closely with their primary schools and theirsecondary school as well as links with other agencies such as theScottish Executive's Health Promoting Schools Unit, Sustrans and thelocal sports development team.
