Describe a typical day On a typical day I deal with information from agencies and individuals indicating that a child may be in need of care and protection. I then call for reports to enable me to decide whether a child is in need of compulsory measures of supervision, and if so I arrange a children's hearing. At the hearing, I ensure that due legal process is followed and keep a record of the proceedings. I also conduct cases at the local Sheriff Court.
What other agencies, and who else within your organisation, do you work with? I deal with a number of agencies, chiefly police, procurator fiscal, education, social work and health services. Our team comprises reporters, support staff and education and social work liaison officers.
