Diane Davies, network director, the Greater Manchester, East Cheshire and High Peak Children, Young People and Families Network.

What do you do? I am director of the network, which oversees thedevelopment of primary, secondary and tertiary health services for youngpeople, children and parents.

What was the highlight of the past week? Getting very positive feedbackfrom teachers using our Dr Tilly's Big Idea book, which helps childrenunderstand changes in healthcare that will affect them.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Knowing I am working with arange of people who can make huge improvements to the health servicesprovided for children and families in such a large area.

What is the toughest decision you have had to take during your career?Deciding to resign from a well-paid, secure teaching job as a head ofdepartment to work in the NHS, on a lower salary, at the bottom of thecareer ladder.
