What are your main responsibilities? To manage the integration of multi-agency services for children and young people in one of Telford's five school and community clusters. I also support and manage staff through common assessment.

What did you do before? I worked as a community nurse manager forTelford & Wrekin Primary Care Trust (PCT). Before that, I worked in GPpractice nursing and as a health visitor in Telford.

What was your best career decision?

In 2002 I took on the role of chair of the professional executivecommittee at the PCT, which is a committee of clinicians who looked athow the trust should prioritise funding. This gave me an understandingof strategy and planning and offered managerial experience.

What made you decide to get into children's services? I was aware thatif you get it right for children you can have an impact on adultservices as well.
